Welcome to Colorado Classical School

Colorado Classical School (CCS) was born out of the vision of two families who are passionate not only about giving their own children a beautiful classical Christian education, but also broadening the reach of the movement as a whole to serve the communities surrounding south Denver. We are a small, grassroots startup classical Christian school which has been blessed with exceptional leadership and founding families with a variety of complementary skill sets ranging from education, construction, finance, and fundraising.

We launched grades K-6 in the Fall of 2024 and will add one grade per year through 8th grade.

Our Mission & Vision

Colorado Classical School will nourish the minds, hearts, and bodies of students with what is true, good, and beautiful through a distinctly classical Christian education so that they may glorify God and serve their neighbor with joy and faithfulness.

Our goal is to partner with parents who will:

  • Embrace their God given responsibility to raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
  • Affirm the role of CCS as one of delegated authority where teachers and staff serve in loco parentis – in the place of the parents.
  • Be well informed about the methods and goals of classical Christian education.
  • Have a growing respect for the classics; books, music, paintings, traditions, manners, and beliefs that have stood the test of time because of their enduring cultural value.
  • Encourage their children to be disciplined and diligent and generally support the school’s teachers and staff.
  • Have a sense of responsibility toward the school that manifests as prayerful support and a cheerful giving of time and resources.
  • Be discerning with the content and amount of screen time allowed in the home.

Our goal is to nurture students who will:

  • Believe, confess, and defend the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
  • Evaluate all truth claims, cultural influences, and experience in light of the purifying fire of the Word of God.
  • Respond to the wonder of God’s creation and providence with humble gratitude and reverent awe.
  • Pursue wisdom (right feeling and thinking) and virtue (right actions) out of gratitude for God’s grace towards them and a childlike faith that His way is best.
  • Show a high regard for others by practicing good manners and respectful behavior.
  • Exemplify servant-leadership in their various callings in the home, the church, and the world.
  • Possess a life-long passion for learning and know how to apply the tools of the Trivium.
  • Listen attentively, read deeply, reason soundly, and speak and write with eloquence.
  • Master a core body of knowledge to include the great ideas of Western civilization.
  • Have a conceptual understanding of mathematics as the language with which God has written the universe.
  • Appreciate the arts, music, and literature as a way of shaping the soul to love higher things.
  • Practice good habits of intellectual, spiritual, moral, and physical life.
  • Be physically literate, prepared to engage in athletics and activities for life and learning.

Our goal is to attract teachers who will:

  • Have a heartfelt joy in God through Christ and a love for living according to His will.
  • Model virtue and wisdom in all aspects of their lives.
  • Be gifted in teaching and abounding in love for their students.
  • Pursue a deep understanding and appreciation of the seven liberal arts and put those tools into practice each day.
  • Inspire wonder by discovering their subjects anew each day.
  • Dialogue and debate with one another about the philosophy, content, and methods that constitute the best education.

Our Core Values

– Unity –

We seek to exemplify the unity of the body of Christ by treating other members of the school community as fellow brothers and sisters, resolving conflict in accordance with biblical principles, and being in active communion with a local church that aligns with the CCS Statement of Faith.

– Excellence –

We seek to teach and learn with excellence as unto the Lord.  It takes hard work and perseverance as we strive to glorify the Lord in all we are called to do. While school standards remain the same for all, we recognize that excellence will look different for each student according to the gifts God has given them.  Growth is the expectation, not uniformity.

– Respect –

We seek to model respectful relationships where students obey those in authority over them, adults respect the personhood of the children under their care, and all submit to the kingship of Christ.

– Peace –

We seek to offer a peaceful and orderly atmosphere by means of consistent, loving discipline, established traditions, habits and routines, a recovery of scholé or restful learning, and a workload that allows for human flourishing.

– Joy –

We seek to move beyond a mere chasing after momentary pleasures to experience true joy.  This first and foremost comes from faith in the triune God as our only source of hope and happiness.  Only then are we truly free to enjoy an education filled with discovery, delight, laughter, and friendship.

– Courage –

We seek to turn boys and girls into courageous and wise men and women.  The courageous Christian shuns conformity, mediocrity, and fear in favor of confidence in Christ.  To that end, we will strive to offer opportunities for taking risks, overcoming obstacles, and healthy competition.
